Received a message on WhatsApp from this number while using my work account. The name displayed didn’t seem familiar at all (sorry for the phone joke!). The text was simply “hello” followed by a cheeky wink emoji. If it was an acquaintance, I’d have their name saved and the message would be a bit more personal. Felt a bit off, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked it.

UPDATE Just a heads up, don’t bother with this number. They rang me up asking if I was still job hunting - which I’m not, I’m retired! The name linked to the account doesn’t match the person who called. Not sure if it’s just random cold calls, but the caller seemed very unprofessional, so I’m guessing it might be a phishing attempt. Since they contacted me out of the blue, I’ve changed my rating from Unknown to Harassing and blocked them. The number looks like it’s from Vodafone and uses a WhatsApp “Business” account. Hopefully this helps someone else steer clear!
