Received a message claiming I had some significant debt to settle. Total scam, as I couldn’t make heads or tails of what they meant! I’ve just blocked their number!

It appears that I’ve had a rather unpleasant encounter with an individual claiming to be from Microsoft, who is apparently from India. He insisted that my computer was infected with a virus and urged me to download some dubious software from a questionable website. It’s quite astonishing how these scams persist!

Got a call from an Indian guy trying to bundle all my loans into one cheaper payment. I said I was a police officer and he just ended the call. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now. Definitely seemed dodgy!!!

Just got a call from this number again, he asked for me by name. I told him I wasn’t here, he then asked who I was, I said I’d rather not say. Then he asked if I had any loans, I said no way, I’m too young to have any debts. He said he was an ex-boyfriend of (name) and told me to tell her he wants to f##k her. I said alright, I’ll pass on the message… after I’ve rung the police, then I hung up. What if a kid had answered and repeated what I said for their mum? It’s crazy we have to deal with this nonsense.

I had a similar call, bloke said he was from citizens advice SERVICES not bureau, so I asked what branch he was with, but he just ignored it and said the line was crackling. I then said so you work for citizens advice bureau, and he replied YES, he was part of a department there. I said alright then, and he just told me to f#ck off before hanging up.

This number rang me two times, first time the person said they were from some debt help company and asked about someone I've never heard of. I didn't give out my number, then the bloke started yelling stuff in a language I didn't understand and hung up. A few minutes later they called again, just shouting all sorts of nasty stuff, even mentioning terrible things about my mum and saying they’d come to my place and "mess me up"!

Got a call from this number sayin it was some government supported company or whatever, so I just hung up. Then he rings back and starts callin me a rude cow for cutting him off. Said all calls are recorded too, like that was supposed to scare me or something. When I asked why he swore at me, he just went quiet. People like this really get under my skin!

Got a call today from someone saying they're from the credit investigation dept, then asked if I was another person. When I said no, they just hung up. Tried calling back but no answer, just an Indian voicemail saying something like “please leave your name and number” but it was spelt funny. Very fishy!

Got a call claiming to be from a debt collection agency saying I owed money. I asked them who they were and if this was some kind of sales pitch, and they told me to go ahead. I told them to remove my number as I knew it was a sales call, then the bloke told me to **** off, so I ended the call. Having worked in a call centre, I know you can block their number if they ring again, so I called back and got a female voicemail saying her inbox was full. PLEASE, if anyone else gets this call, don't give them any info and ring the Action Fraud line on 0300 123 2040. I've just done the same.

Had a caller with an Indian accent spouting all that rubbish about me having huge debts (which I dont have any). When I called him a liar, he started saying he knew where I lived. I asked if he meant just Manchester, he said yes, down to the street. Ha! I live nowhere near there. Total con trying to target people who are most vulnerable. If you dont recognise the number, dont trust anything they say. Just block it.

Got a call from this number earlier, could hear that busy call-centre noise in the background. The man sounded like he was from Liverpool and asked if he was speaking to a Mr Dennis Henry, which obviously he wasn't. I said no and he just ended the call straight away.

A guy with an Indian/Pakistani accent rang up sayin he's a private detective and asked for my first name. I asked who was calling, and he just said, I'm askin you, answer my question. Just got a call like that myself. The bloke claimed I had unsecured loans and said he was ringing from ‘the government’. I asked him what department, mentioning I work for the government as well (which isn’t true), and he stammered a bit before hanging up. Yeah, I do have unsecured loans and debts, but I reckon the government wouldn’t be offering to help like that or calling out of the blue.
