Got a text from this number just now saying, “UK Government Living Allowance Office Final Notice Reminder. Because the winter heating subsidy has been cut, you’re no longer eligible for that, but the UK government has decided to give an advance living allowance to help you get through the winter.” Seems fishy to me. The message included a link to apply, but it’s a bit.ly link, not a proper "gov.uk" site like you'd expect. Plus, the grammar was a bit off. I’m pretty sure this is a scam - don’t click on anything unless you get a clear confirmation from a trusted official source!
