someone called me saying they where from the Halifax bank and claimed my card was used fraudulently. I looked up my account online and there was no suspicious activity. I then phoned Halifax's fraud department immediately to report it and they said they'd cancel my card.

Got a message from BoS about a payment being rejected, then later another text from this same number demanding I reply. I ignored it and blocked the number straightaway. Checked online for any payments I owed but found nothing wrong (wasn't expecting anything and the sum they mentioned was way off). Seems like a classic scam try.

Just yesterday I got a message claiming to be from ‘Lloyds’ saying my debit card ending in xxxx was charged £228.31 and to reply yes or no. I stupidly replied, then right after got a call where they used my name and said they’d put me through to fraud. As soon as I heard that, I hung up! When I rang Lloyds myself, they confirmed someone had tried to use my card, so they’ve cancelled it and are sending a replacement. Then today, my husband’s business account got hit with the exact same scam.

So I got a message from someone calling themselves "bos", saying I'd be getting a call soon. Pretty sure it's a scam, I really have no clue how they even got hold of my card info. What's weird is they rang both my mobile and landline simultaneously.

Just to let you know, we got a text from this number saying it was from our bank about someone trying to use our card ending with xxx. The amount was exactly £1000. We called the bank to confirm and it turned out to be legit. Apparently, someone from Belarus had our card info and was testing if it still worked. We ended up cancelling the card and ordering a new one. Don’t just ignore texts like this, but don’t reply either - better to call your bank directly to double check. Stay safe and keep an eye on your accounts.

Got a message from this number saying my Halifax debit card ending in 4139 was used on 25/02/2022 at 21:34:57 to make a £29.99 purchase at Discount Moona, but the payment got declined. I never texted this number though. The text says if it was me, reply yes, if not, reply no, and there's no need to call them. Apparently replying to the message is the fastest way to sort it out. Quite a strange way to check on your card!
