Got a call just before six tonight, a woman with a thick Indian accent asking for me by name. I told her she might want to find someone with better English skills. She kept going on about some kind of benefit scheme, then asked if I wanted to answer some questions. I flat out said no, and she hung up straight away. Feels like one of those scams where they try to collect info. Hope she gets tired of being turned down and goes back where she came from.

Got a call from a woman speaking with an Indian accent, asking if I was Mrs (surname). I said I wasn’t, then she asked if I was related to her. Again, I said no. Curious, I asked who she was and she said she was ringing from some benefits office and needed to speak to the owner of the number, then started rattling off a phone number. I told her "no thanks, don’t call here again." As I ended the call, I heard her say something like "you haven’t even heard why I’m calling". Blocked the number straight away.

When I picked up the phone, I just stayed quiet for a bit, then after a moment, I heard the familiar bustle of a call centre and someone with a heavy accent say hello. I ended the call and blocked the number straight away. This is the third time I’ve had calls like this today, and I’m pretty sure they’re either dodgy marketing, a scam, or some dodgy way of scraping my info.
