So I put up an ad on Gumtree for my bike and got a WhatsApp message from this bloke using the number 07424 738615. He claimed he was keen on buying the bike and would sort out a courier for collection, promising to pay me. This was my first time using Gumtree, so I wasn’t sure how it all worked. Luckily, my colleague warned me to stay clear of him since it sounded like a scam. When I said I wasn’t comfortable sending the money first, he started bombarding me with awful messages, swearing and even threats. Proper nasty behaviour from him.
