I got a call from an automated voice saying I had some legal trouble with HMRC. After that, a guy who said his name was Tony Lee got on the line and told me there was a warrant for my arrest, saying an Officer Donnelly would be coming for me. I phoned 101 to check, and they said it was a scam and advised me not to share any personal info and to block the number. If it was real, they would have sent police officers round to my house by now, especially if it was about fraud.

! SCAM ALERT ! Ignore any calls from this number and don’t engage with whoever’s on the line. As soon as they start asking for your personal details like your home address or bank card info to clear up supposed “fraud debts” for HMRC, just hang up straight away. I’ve checked with Nottinghamshire Police and they say there’s no Officer Donnelly employed there at all. Make sure to report this number whenever you can!!
