Got a call really early, about 7.45 in the morning, from some bloke claiming to be HMRC. Right away I thought, when does HMRC even bother calling at that hour? The guy had a strong accent, bit hard to place, maybe African or Asian, not sure. He said I was due over £300 in tax refunds or something. I just laughed it off - I’m on PAYE, so no chance of that. Guess he didn’t like being called out because he hung up on me pretty sharpish!
