Got a random call from a lady with a thick South Asian accent, barely making out her name - something like Mariam or Miriam. She claimed to be from ‘Amazon Customer Help’ and was talking about a supposed purchase on my account this morning - an Apple phone for £799! I thought, “That’s quite a bargain for an Apple phone!” I quickly called her out on being a scammer, and she just dropped the call. Definitely not Amazon at the other end, just another one of those South Asian scams. Best thing is to hang up, don’t reply, and block the number.
