Reports on phone number 07423508122
4 yearsGot a Whatsapp message supposedly from "Mum", saying their old phone had died and to contact them on this new number - 07423508122. I honestly believed it was my daughter at first. They then asked me to cover a couple of bills because apparently, their bank account was locked until the next day. When I tried to call my daughter back, she’d disappeared from my contacts, and it seemed the scammer had swapped her contact details with his own. Luckily, I got through to her on another phone, and she told me someone had purposely drained her battery so no-one could get hold of her.WhatsApp4 yearsI just got a message on WhatsApp from a number I don't recognise. The individual, whose identity is completely foreign to me, requested that I send them some money. It felt rather dodgy and has all the hallmarks of a scam!WhatsApp4 yearsI've encountered a similar situation myself. Given that my daughter has been grappling with problems on her device, I thought it prudent to respond. The individual in question requested that I settle a bill on her behalf, which amounted to just shy of £1800. They furnished me with bank details and a reference number. It turns out this account is affiliated with Barclays in London and is designated for incoming transactions from SEPA nations. I can't help but wonder how many unsuspecting folks have fallen victim to this scheme.BarclaysLondonSEPA4 yearsEarlier today, I got a message on WhatsApp that raised my eyebrows. Intrigued, I responded, inquiring about the sender’s identity, to which they cheekily replied, “your eldest child, naturally.” However, I couldn't help but notice that their message was riddled with spelling errors. Not wanting to entertain any nonsense, I decided to block the number, as it seemed to be linked to a business rather than a personal contact. Quite the odd encounter, if you ask me!WhatsApp4 yearsI received a WhatsApp message from this number that said, "Hey Mum, it's me with my new contact number!" "My phone's gone kaput." "Feel free to text or call me here." "Shall I save it?" Thankfully, I'm not gullible and immediately realised it was a scam, so please take heed and absolutely DO NOT reply to messages like this!WhatsAppSubmit Your Own Report (07423 508122)
