I got a call from someone saying they were with VEKA windows. They told me to visit this site: veka[###][###], but the site isn’t real. I found an actual Veka recycling firm and gave them a ring - they confirmed they don’t make cold calls. The helpful woman there even gave me the name of the local rep and said if the caller wasn’t that person, then it’s definitely not them. Seems like whoever’s doing this scam has done their homework!

Upon asking the purpose of her call, she cryptically described it as an 'information call,' which rather quickly revealed itself to be related to energy efficiency. A chap from Scotland, supposedly selling windows and doors, managed to find my number after I filled out a survey. When I challenged him on whether he had the right person, he called me out, insisting that I wasn’t a homeowner. It all ended rather abruptly as he hung up on me. The number is associated with Vodafone, so I reached out to them and provided the number in question to get some action. They’ve assured me it’ll be taken further with an aim to cancelling the number or contract altogether. Let’s be honest, this sort of company might try using a different number or even a different name to carry on, but it's crucial to bring it to light. Let's do our part in putting a stop to these lowdown scammers who just won't leave folks alone!

Got a call from a bloke with a Scottish accent about some window scrappage thing. He was quite polite, but I cut him off just as nicely and told him I’m on the TPS, so he shouldn’t be ringing me. He said sorry and ended the call fairly quickly. I’ve now added BT call protect on top of TPS and blocked the number anyway. These nuisance calls are just that, a right pain in the neck.

I've come across a slew of negative feedback concerning this number on another forum. To put it mildly, it's a right nuisance call, though many would deem it a blatant scam. They're fishing for sensitive information related to benefits, as well as bank account details. It appears they're using a mobile connected to an automatic dialling system over the internet, making it nearly impossible to put a stop to. The caller had a distinct Scottish accent, and while he was quite courteous and even offered an apology after rambling on for a bit, I had to interject. I reminded him that I am on the TPS register and that he shouldn't be contacting me. To his credit, he did maintain a polite demeanor and expressed regret. However, it seems that others who have received calls from this number haven’t had the same pleasant experience.
