Got a call from this number yesterday, it was some Asian lady claiming to be from Citizens Advice, said it was about a debt I supposedly owe, which is total rubbish. Then she started asking if I have credit cards. I said a clear no and she just hung up. Pretty sure CAB wouldn’t be calling from a mobile, so yeah, bit sus if you ask me.

So this bloke rings me from a mobile, says he's self employed or summat. I answered. He had an Indian accent and started talking about having unsecured debts and how they can clear 40% right away. Told him I’m not interested but he just kept going on. I said loud and clear, “I’m NOT interested,” then I ended the call. Blocked him after that.

I decided to mess with him a bit, told him I was right by my PC. Then he goes, "I think you’re not taking this seriously," and I just laughed. Got a phone call earlier on 20/9/16 at about 11:03 in the morning from someone saying they were from "citizen advice" about supposed debts I didn’t even have.
When I said it sounded like nonsense, they just hung up on me.

These days, scammers are getting really sneaky, ringing mobile phones so you might think it’s a mate. They also use hidden numbers quite a lot. I’ve just stopped answering calls from withheld numbers now, and since I don’t have a blocking app, I try to remember the last four digits of suspicious mobiles and avoid picking up. The number of calls has dropped on my mobile, but now they’ve moved on to my landline, which is even worse! Honestly, I just don’t bother answering any calls anymore.

Got a call from some bloke in India saying he's with the Credit Investigation Team, part of some government programme. He went on about how his boss had spotted my profile showing unpaid debts or loans, and they could supposedly assist me. I cut him off pretty quick, told him I haven’t a clue what he’s talking about. Proper pain in the neck. Just got a response from my MP after I wrote to him about pushing for a debate on cold calls like this in Parliament. He mentioned he’s reaching out to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to see what the government’s plans are for tackling these annoying calls. Honestly, everyone should be writing to their MP too if they want this sorted. Let’s get the ball rolling now!

Got a call from this number while I was on the phone with my bank, so I ended the call. Tried ringing back but it kept saying invalid number, please check and try again. Got a call just now from someone claiming to be from a debt collection firm about some unsecured debt. When I asked where they got my number from, they said it was handed to them on a list. I told them I don’t owe anything like that, and they didn’t say which company they were from, just said sorry and ended the call. Pretty unsettling, to be honest.
