Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent about a car crash they said I had, and mentioned they needed to close the case since it was a government matter. They started getting a bit pushy when I told them I’d ring my insurance first before sharing any details. So, I just ended the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the local helpline, saying they had a file from the RTA Department about me being in an accident. He asked if that was true and then wanted to know the accident date. I told him if they already had a file, they should have that info. He said their verification team has it but was too busy and promised to ring back in 15 minutes. Yeah, right! Seriously, does anyone else know that cold calling about accident claims is actually against the law?

Got a call this afternoon around 2.18 on the 15th of December, 2017. Picked up but the person on the other end just dropped the line straight away. I've put the number on my block list now.

I couldn’t quite make out the company name, which I’m sure was fake anyway. They claimed I was involved in an accident sometime in the past couple of years, but that’s not true at all. I asked them to take my details off their list and have since blocked the number.

Got a call on my new phone today at 12.28 from a man with an Asian accent about some supposed car crash. I kindly explained that he had the wrong info and asked him to take my number off whatever list he'd got it from. Afterwards, I blocked the number using my phone's spam filter. It was obvious a scam. I've also reported it to the Information Commissioner's Office.
