We got contacted by a dodgy plumbing outfit that kept popping up under various names online. They claimed our external drain was clogged and demanded £50 just to come out, plus a whopping £674 for what was basically a jet wash using our own water! We declined straight away. After we told him to leave, the bloke hung about outside for about 15 minutes. Watch out for HAH Group Limited! The voice on the phone matched the guy who showed up. We didn’t hand over any cash and moved him on right away!

Total scam, these so-called plumbers are a joke. Don't trust them.

My brother used Chriss Electrics on New Year's Eve when he experienced a full power cut. They assigned an electrician (they do not employ their own electricians, they just use a database of any electrician who is registered to them). They sent an electrician to my brother's house who was on site for four hours and did some work on his landing under the fuse board. The electrician initially quoted just over £7,000, but the final bill was £9,000, which my brother paid due to his vulnerabilities and trusting nature. No invoice was provided, nor any official paperwork or breakdown of costs. The quote included the electrician installing a new fuse board (quoted £1,700 just to fit this alone), which was never done. Sadly, my brother, not knowing what these things cost and believing he was contacting a legitimate company, paid this. Chriss Electrics do not have an email address or company registration number anywhere on their website. When you call them to ask for these details, they do not provide them and, despite requests for an invoice for the work or details of the electrician they sent, they ignore requests and simply say they do not work in the department that would handle providing this information. They are fully aware that their recommended electrician has charged £9,000 for four hours of work but refuse to intervene and take zero accountability. I have since had two further independent electricians attend the property and report on the work done; both have quoted between £500 and £1,000 for the work, and realistically, due to the time of year, I can see some additional out-of-hours payment being added. I have raised a complaint and will be contacting Trading Standards if a response and satisfactory outcome are not achieved. I did not want to go down this route as I was hopeful Chriss Electrics would intervene once they were aware of the situation, but sadly they have ignored me. Chriss Electrics now fully refuse to provide me with an invoice or details of the electrician who attended. Honestly, do not use this company and warn anyone who is vulnerable not to use them either.
