Got a call that felt dodgy right from the start. They played some sort of pre-recorded message first, telling me to speak to a real person. When the actual person came on, I mentioned his English wasn’t great. Instead of admitting it, he accused me of being racist. So I just admitted I was and called him out as a scammer, asking what his next move was. That’s when he ended the call.

Got the same call again today, fourth time now. It’s that credit card scam - you get a recorded English woman’s voice saying she’s from the bank’s security team, worried about some suspicious charges on your card. They ask you to press 1 if you want to cancel them. Then there’s a recorded American bloke telling you to wait while they connect you to a “Poll Picker” or something like that, whatever that means. After all that, some Asian gentleman finally picks up and attempts to rip you off. Proper dodgy!

Got a call saying there were two payments taken from my account, one over £600 and another more than £1100, and they told me to press 1 to stop them looking into it, which sounded like pressing 1 would cancel the charges. They said press 2 to talk to an agent. When I chose 2, they asked loads of questions but then wanted me to get my latest bank statement. I said I’d call my branch myself and then the call just ended. Proper sneaky and could easily fool older people or those worried about their money.
