They got my name all wrong and just ended the call.

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been getting calls at least 2 or 3 times daily from these annoying people. The numbers keep changing but always begin with 07418… Does anyone know an easy way to stop these calls? It’s really getting on my nerves 🤦‍♂️.

A woman with a foreign accent called me saying I had £3500 owed from some kind of PPI claim. She confirmed my date of birth and then immediately wanted my bank details and sort code. I told her I preferred to get a cheque instead, but she said they don’t do cheques. When I asked if she could email me the paperwork since I wasn’t comfortable sharing info on the phone, she just ended the call. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

My phone just got a call from this number, but when I answered nobody said a word and then it suddenly cut off. Strange!

Someone called saying I had £3000 PPI to claim and tried to get my bank details. They used an English name but the accent didn’t match at all.

Got a call from someone claiming I was entitled to £3500 from PPI. Then they asked if I knew what PPI was, and I told them I didn’t, and that it sounded wrong. After that, they just cut the call. The person on the line seemed to have an accent, maybe Pakistani or Indian.

Got a call saying the gov was going to refund me £3800. Ha! Then they started asking for my personal info. When I asked more questions, I realised it was a total scam. Heard a harsh tone in his bad English accent right after.

Has anyone got a hint about who that might have been? They rang me but no message was left. I dunno why a UK firm would ring and then not bother with a voicemail? Feels to me like some automated system just randomly poking at numbers.
