Someone’s been trying to sell me a government-backed boiler but I’m not the one who owns this house anymore. Definitely caught me off guard!

Got a call from a guy who said his name was James, but he had a really strong Indian accent. He started talking about some government scheme for boilers. When I asked him to give me his actual name, he just hung up straight away. Total scam, steer clear!

Avoid this number at all costs! An overseas voice with broken English and loads of noise in the background called me about some energy grant. I told them I wasn’t interested and if I ever was, I'd deal directly with my energy company. Told them to stop ringing me, and I hope they do.

Some bloke with a foreign accent called, said his name was John and wanted to chat with the person living in the house. I asked what it was regarding, and he started going on about a grant for a new boiler. He sounded like he was just reading off a script and kept saying “gr8” whenever I asked something. Told him he’d have to speak to the landlord instead, and then he cheekily asked for their phone number. I told him no way, I couldn’t share it because of data protection laws. After that, he just hung up. Definitely one of those dodgy scams to watch out for.

I picked up a call from 07418 352800 and a bloke called "Nick" claimed he was ringing from the "Energy Innovation Centre." He said he was working for the "goamt" and was talking about some boiler replacement thing. His accent was really strong, sounded South Asian. When I told him the only Energy Innovation Centre I know is in Ellesmere Port, not Birmingham as he said, he just thanked me for wasting his time and hung up. Pretty obvious it’s a scam.
