I got a call from one of those boiler room scams today. When I mentioned I trade for a living and called out their nonsense, they just hung up on me. It's worrying because the next person they ring might not be as sharp and could fall for their tricks. These scammers really should be stopped.

I keep getting calls from someone with an American accent, a woman who uses my first name like she knows me, trying to pitch Bitcoin. I’m not interested at all. Loads of these calls come from unknown numbers, always American voices, plus I’m bombarded with emails about it too. Very annoying!

They said I’d joined some online stock trading deal from their ad, which I’m pretty sure I never did! There was loads of background noise too, and as soon as I told them to take my number off their list, they just ended the call.

I got a call about some kind of marketing thing, but they wouldn't tell me how they even had my number. When I asked them to take me off their list, they just wouldn’t do it. The whole chat was kind of a mess, really hard to get a word in, and I never really understood what they wanted out of me.

I've gotten more than 50 calls from this investment firm, mostly from this number or ones very similar, plus others from places like London, Sweden, and Switzerland. When you pick up and politely ask to have your number removed, they often get quite rude. Even if they say they'll stop, you'll usually get another ring within 10 minutes from a different, but close, number. It ends up meaning you have to keep blocking them constantly.

Got a call from a bloke called Vic who said Apple was after investors. He kept pushing to connect me with some “expert” mate of his. I could tell it was one of those annoying calls but he was so polite and kinda sounded genuine that I felt a bit sorry for him. We ended up chatting briefly, and he mentioned this was basically their only way of making a bit of cash 😕

The call was really crackly and loud, with a lot of static. The lady on the line sounded like she was from Eastern Europe, maybe, and it felt like she was outside somewhere noisy. She claimed to be ringing about my trading account. I told her I don't have one. Then she insisted that I'd shown interest before. I said no way. She then asked my age out of nowhere, I told her to mind her own business and then she just cut the call.
