So, yesterday I got a call from a guy with an African accent claiming he’s with BRSK. Said they’re doing some broadband cable work around my area. He seemed really nice and asked for my number to keep me updated on when they’d start. Since then, I’ve been getting strange texts from that same number and a different one too, with links that look dodgy. Definitely a scam! I’d say block them and let your phone company know.

Dont pick up if this number calls you, its connected to a dodgy broadband scam. Just block and delete straight away.

Got a WhatsApp message saying it was from BRISK, the internet company, but not sure if it’s legit or some kinda scam.

A person saying they were from Brsk internet showed up at our house unexpectedly, and my dad, not really clued up on these things, let them in. They flashed some kind of ID and mentioned they’d be doing some local work soon that might cut off our phone line temporarily. My dad ended up giving them his mobile number so they could inform him when the work would start. They also asked for his email and phone details. Since then, he’s received a few texts with a link to https://brsk.uk/inform, supposedly with updates. I haven’t clicked on the texts just to be safe, but visiting that site on my computer takes you to a general info page about installation, with an option to sign up.
The company appears genuine enough - it’s real anyway - but curiously, the mobile number they gave has no presence online, which feels dodgy. I reckon they might be genuine but are probably just gathering contact info to spam with marketing when the service launches.

Got a text saying:

"Hello,
There's a problem in your neighbourhood. Your internet might go offline soon. We're working on it and will update you shortly."

A while back, this same number asked me to recommend a mate to brsk, my internet provider.

I’ve got fibre from brsk myself and thought it might be genuine, but the number isn’t on their official site or any of their customer docs.

Probably safest to avoid clicking any links or sharing personal stuff over calls or messages, just to be on the safe side.

Someone knocked on my door claiming they were working nearby for brsk limited and asked for my phone number. I gave it to them but then I looked the number up, and everything points to it being a scam. Can anyone confirm or help me out with this?
