Somebody called about my car advert on Gumtree, saying he wanted to buy it as a birthday gift for his daughter. He said he was disabled and couldn't view the car in person, so insisted on paying through Paypal and having it picked up. It felt a bit off, so I searched online and found the exact same tale linked to another phone number. It’s mad how these scammers keep pulling the same tricks and somehow avoid getting caught. How do they keep getting away with it?
