Was just browsing some Microsoft news when suddenly my pc started blaring a message telling me it was locked. It claimed to be from Microsoft, so I gave the number a ring, but pretty quickly I figured out it was a scam. I ended up unplugging the whole thing, and thankfully it’s back to normal now. Cheers for the help, Norton - not!

I just received a scary voice message claiming my PC was locked and telling me to ring their number straight away. The message said it was from Microsoft and even showed their logo. When I dialled the number, a recorded voice said no one was taking calls right now and to try again later. My computer froze and wouldn’t do anything, so I had to unplug it and turn it back on. Thankfully, it seems alright now (I’m typing this from my other computer), but I’m running a scan on the problem PC to check if there’s any malware or issues.

A warning suddenly appeared on my laptop claiming to be from Microsoft Security, saying my computer was infected with Trojan Spyware and had been locked. It told me to ring a toll-free number (07418319781) so some “engineers” could help fix it. I wasn’t convinced, so I just shut the laptop down straight away, left it off for a few mins, then switched it on again. So far, everything looks fine and nothing weird going on.
