This number rang me for car finance stuff, and it’s defo from PPe. I told them it’s the fourth different number they’ve used with VoIP to call me, even tho I’ve got a call preference set up. They even knew my first name and said they’d given me a car loan last year, which is a total lie. Plus, they said I had financed cars before - which I haven’t. The funny bit? I drive, but every time I say I don’t, yet they keep calling. After a long quiet pause, they claimed I’d had two car credits and could apply again. I told them to take my info off their list and just hung up.

This call felt really sketchy from the start - the woman on the line, who said her name was Ava and spoke with an Aussie accent, kept referring to car finance, which I’ve never even had. I mentioned I sold my car about a decade ago, and then she totally changed the subject to ask if my car was diesel. When I replied it was petrol, she suddenly didn’t seem bothered to chat anymore. She wasn’t rude exactly, but definitely not friendly or helpful either, and when I asked where she found my number, she just dodged the question. Sounds like a clear phishing attempt to me.
