Got a call from someone saying they were with a “Call Blocking Service” but it was clear they were just trying to scam me. Total dodgy business!

Over the space of a couple days, I got six calls from this number. Every time, the caller hung up after just about 6 seconds. My Truecall call blocker picked them up and marked it as spam. Those quick hangs around 6 seconds are what you usually get from robocalls that ignore what your blocker tries to do. Honestly, I'm really glad I installed that call blocker!

I kept gettin calls from this number and just ignored it most times, but today I finally picked up 'cause I was curious. This lady with an Asian accent said she was from some Call Blocking Service and that they'd be putting it on my phone. I told her no thanks and that they shouldn't call me again. Then I hung up before she could say anything else.

I got this weird call where first there was just silence, then a recorded voice said ‘goodbye’. The very next day, a lady with an Asian accent rang me up, said her name was Jennifer and that she was calling about my call blocking service. She claimed that starting tomorrow, I wouldn’t get any more cold calls. Then she asked for my Visa card expiry date, saying she thought it was coming up soon. I told her I don’t own any Visa card and had no clue what she was on about! Feels like those scam call centres are back at it again...

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent, claiming they could reduce the amount of scam calls I get. Sounds dodgy to me, especially since they asked for my card info. I reckon older folks might fall for this one easily, it's really risky. Watch out!

This number rang me three times. The first two were completely silent, then on the third call, a guy with an Asian accent told me he could help stop annoying calls.

This number rang me a couple of times today and also once on the 3rd of July. Didn’t pick up any of the calls and they didn’t bother leaving a voicemail either.

I get calls from this number pretty much all day long, like multiple times. I usually just let unknown numbers go to voicemail and none of these callers ever leave a message. It was so peaceful during lockdown with no annoying calls, but now they’re back again, which is quite frustrating.

So, I got a call from this guy called Alex, who said he was from a company named Call Blocking department - seriously, that’s the name! He spoke English with a really strong accent and didn’t seem to get that I was asking for his phone number. After a bit of confusion, he just hung up on me. Weird experience!

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent who claimed there were new phone lines being set up nearby. He started quizzing my elderly mum about her phone charges and how she settles the bill, then tried to get her bank card info. When she refused, he got really pushy, insisting she had to give it right away. My mum ended the call but it left her really rattled.

I got a call looking for Mrs ####, but they then asked if I was Mr ####. I replied sort of unsure. The person said they were with some call blocking company. I told them I was recording the call, that I'd already registered on a do not call list, and that they’d be blocked. Then I just hung up.

Spoke with an Asian accent, claimed they could provide a call blocking service that would block every call except from family. Then they asked for the number on my cheque book and even my DOB. The phone line isn’t even registered in my name! This is seriously risky, especially targeting older people. Someone really needs to put a stop to this soon!
