Got a call this morning at 10am from some ebc company, and they addressed me as 'sir', which caught me off guard since I'm a Mrs, not a sir. They even used my maiden name, though I've been married for five years now. I could hear loads of people talking in a language I didn't recognise in the background before they abruptly hung up. Definitely sounded like a scam to me.

Didn’t pick up cos it was an unrecognised number, figured it might be some kinda scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from a debt management firm, wanted to check my address. He gave the name Sam, but when I doubted it, he snapped back with some rude stuff like “I’m not your mum, you idiot” or something similar. After that, he kept ringing me for about an hour, shouting threats and being really nasty. If you get calls like this, definitely report them to the police!

I picked up and all they did was hear the sounds from my end for a moment, then they hung up.

Got a call from some bloke who never even asked for me by name. I asked who he was after and he just launched into something about unsecured debts I supposedly have. When I asked who he thought I was, he got all awkward and told me I’m paying loads for these debts because he’d been given my details. Thing is, I don’t owe anything like that at all. Ended up cutting the call and blocked the number straight away. The guy had a really strong, deep African accent. Definitely sounded like a scam.

Got this call from someone with a really strong Indian accent saying his name was Steven Black. He claimed to be from some government department, talking about my unpaid debts. Totally bogus and sounds like one of those scams that could lead to identity theft. Be careful with calls like this!
