Got a call from someone saying they were from a PPI claims firm and that they could help get tax back on a PPI payout. They kept asking for loads of personal details. Absolutely don’t give out any of your info to them!

Apparently they say they can get back tax from my PPI claim. Thing is, I never even made a PPI claim, so it's obviously a scam.

I got a phone call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, offering help with tax refunds related to a PPI payment from ages ago. They mentioned my previous address, which was a bit worrying. After I gave them my current address, they asked if the PPI payment was made before 2018. Once I confirmed that, they told me I couldn’t get any refund as it was beyond the 5-year limit. Then they just hung up.
