So this person called, saying they were from Amazon, telling me someone had bought an iPad using my account and they could help me cancel it. Then they asked me to “verify my account” by reading aloud the code they supposedly emailed me. For anyone not sure how this scam works - what they’re really doing is trying to reset your password from their side and that code is sent to your email to prove it’s you. By getting you to say the code on the phone, they get full access to your account. If it was legit, Amazon would never ask for that kind of info over the phone. Be careful!
