Just hang up and get in touch with your bank straight away! It’s definitely a con. They’ll claim someone’s ripped you off and promise to sort it out. Don’t believe a word of it!

Watch out for this one, he’s pretty slick. The initial ring showed up as an unknown number, then he claimed the connection was dodgy so rang me again on Whatsapp from a different number. He warned that a big payment was due to Barclaycard later that day - which I don’t even have. As we talked I got the feeling something was off, so I said I’d end the call and get in touch with my bank myself. That’s when he abruptly hung up. I did double-check with my bank afterwards and they confirmed there was no unusual activity at all.
