!!! FRAUD ALERT !!! AVOID THIS CALL or IGNORE IT ENTIRELY. This is a pre-recorded notification stating that your internet connectivity is at risk of being cut off in the next two days due to a breach involving your IP address.

Utterly fraudulent! I received a call claiming that my IP address had been compromised. The individual on the line was an Indian chap masquerading as someone from BT.

Honestly, for folks doing stuff like this, maybe making capital punishment an option wouldn't be such a bad idea. It's about time we got serious with these people.

I've received multiple calls from this number, so I decided to pick up eventually. Turns out it was a recorded message from someone with an Indian accent, claiming they were going to cut off my internet services. They prompted me to press 1 to speak with a technician. Clearly, this is just a scam attempt.

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT about an issue with my IP address. It was an automated voice telling me to press 1, then it connected me to a call centre. But as soon as I started asking questions, they just ended the call. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

Had them ring me twice today already - it's one of those robot calls threatening to cut off my internet because, apparently, my IP's been hacked. The automated voice says press 1 to chat, but I reckon that’s just code for falling into some scam trap. Bet as soon as you do, they start spinning a story about your computer being at risk and pushing you to download some dodgy software so they can get in. Total waste of time.

This number rang me up a couple times today. They were telling me to press 1 or something, but I just hung up straight away.

I got a call from some automated voice saying my internet would be disconnected in an hour unless I hit 1 to talk to a "technician". Total scam! I’ve already passed the details to the fraud team. Seriously, don’t press 1 - keep yourself protected!

I received a recorded message stating that my broadband IP address had been compromised across multiple nations, and that I would soon lose my connection. They urged me to press 1 to get in touch with a technician. Clearly, this is a blatant scam!

Got a robo call saying my IP address was hacked or something, then they keep going on about cutting off my internet, yada yada. Pretty sure it’s one of those dodgy scams trying to trick you into downloading software from some random site so they can take over your computer. Honestly, it’s pathetic how these scammers don’t even bother talking to you properly anymore - just expect you to press 1 and hand over the control. Ridiculous how lazy some people are when scamming others.

I've had the same thing happen - it was definitely a scam trying to hijack my IP address.

Looks like another one of those scam calls. Got one with a recorded voice warning that the internet was hacked in loads of places and would be disconnected in an hour unless I pressed 1 to speak with some "engineer." Didn’t take it seriously and simply ended the call.

Best not to pick up, they're just tryna scam you for cash, don’t trust em!

i got a call from a recorded message saying my internet would get cut off unless I pressed one to have an engineer fix stuff. funny thing is, it came from a mobile number, which should be simple enough to track down where these scams begin. but will any fraud team actually do owt? doubt it. they’re probably too busy lining their pockets with cash from all these scams going through. feels like the coppers, banks, and phone firms are all in on it, letting it slide cos they're somehow benefiting from it.
8 years
Oi, just got one of those annoying pre-recorded calls again - what a nightmare! I reckon there’s no way all these calls are from the same lot but seriously, these calls need to be stopped pronto. If they were traced properly, they should get blocked straight away. I know it’s possible because Vodafone once blocked my number just cos I was a couple of days late with a payment after switching banks. It just needs some effort and proper resources, but that’s where things fall apart.
