Got a call on my landline from this number, it was some automated message claiming to be from Amazon Prime saying they'd charge me £79.99. They told me to press 1 to cancel and to talk to a manager, so I did, but just ended up hearing the same message again. Then I remembered I’ve never actually signed up for Amazon Prime, so I hung up when it clicked. What’s weird is they shouldn’t even have my landline number since I’m ex-directory. Now I’m left wondering if I’ve been scammed or what’s going on exactly.

This number rang me on my home phone and it was some automated message claiming to be from Amazon Prime. They said they were going to take £79.99 from my bank and told me to press 1 to cancel the 'subscription' and speak to a manager. I did as told but just got the same recorded message again. Then I remembered I never signed up to Amazon Prime, so I hung up. It also struck me that as my number is ex-directory, they wouldn’t have been able to get it from Amazon anyway. Now I’m just left wondering if I’ve been scammed somehow or if it was just a waste of time.
