Got a call from 07403686333 and they already knew my name, started asking about my debts and loans. I told them I’ve got no loans, but I can see how older folks might easily fall for it. I’m 53 myself, so not that easy to fool! Seriously, don’t hand out any personal details to strange callers. Be careful out there, folks. Cheers, FAB.

I didn’t pick up, but after reading some other posts, it seems like this might be a dodgy call aimed at folks struggling with debt. I recently had to get advice from Stepchange myself since I went back to full-time study and money’s been tight, couldn’t keep up with my payments. Wonder if Stepchange passed on my contact details or something? No idea really.

Total scam alert. The guy claimed he was from some government department offering help if you owe more than 6,000. When I told him I wasn’t sure who he really was and said I’d post about it, he just said 'okay' and hung up. I usually don’t pick up strange numbers and have blocked loads already. The caller had an Indian accent and was pretty smooth at talking. I reckon some folks who are struggling might easily get tricked by stuff like this. He definitely knew how to sound convincing.

If someone claims to know my details, especially anything to do with my finances, they better be ready to be put to the test. When I replied with a simple 'Seriously?!', they just couldn’t be bothered to continue. Definitely raised my suspicions. These numbers really ought to be blocked straight away.

Got a ring from this number a bit ago, and some woman claimed she was calling from the 'Crodic' Investigation Dept or something like that. I didn’t catch it properly so I told her to say it again and then asked her to spell it out. Next thing I know, she just hangs up on me. Seems really sketchy to me.

Got a call from some bloke with an Indian accent who said I’d supposedly taken out a £1000 loan for Christmas. He warned me to ring 09131240321 within a couple of minutes or else my credit score would take a hit. Yeah right, I ignored it straight away - definitely a dodgy scam from the get-go!

Got a call, didn’t answer it, then they rang back almost immediately - definitely sounded like some automated dialler. Tried ringing the number back myself but it just says "number not found". Thought it might be one of those PPI or "accident claim" scams, but from what I’ve read here it seems to be about debt advice. Funny, considering I cleared my debts about nine years ago. Needless to say, I blocked the number straight away.

I rarely pick up calls from unknown numbers. That’s exactly why voicemail is handy, so you can see who’s calling. If there’s no voicemail left, I just block the number straight away.

Got a call from some bloke with an Indian accent who couldn’t even get my name right. When I politely asked to be removed from their list, he twisted it around and said I was being rude for not wanting to hear him out. He started off talking about debt help, but before ending the call, he threatened to take legal action against me - complete nonsense and clearly a scam! I tried ringing the number back and it just said it wasn’t a valid number. Definitely strange. If I were you, I’d just block it. Seems like some dodgy bloke using our info for all the wrong reasons.

I got a call from some bloke claiming I owed money, and I calmly explained I didn’t have any debts. Suddenly, he began threatening to show up at my place and even mentioned my address. It was creepy how he knew where I live, especially since I was so polite the whole time. He was pretty aggressive, which caught me off guard.

So, this bloke phoned me claiming something about a government plan to clear debts. I told him I'd prefer to check it out myself since I wasn't sure who he was - sounded like he had an Indian accent. He got a bit cross and said, "I haven’t even asked for your bank info." I said, "No need to be cheeky, I’m ending this call now."
