I received some texts supposedly from Lloyds, alleging there was some dodgy activity on my account. Foolishly, I clicked on a link since everything seemed above board-nothing about it raised any red flags. I was none the wiser it was a scam until they sent me a verification code, which was oddly from Halifax, not Lloyds. When I queried it, the representative got all flustered and put me on hold. Then, the audacity of it! They actually asked me for my account number and sort code to 'verify' my identity. From here on in, I expect them to prove who they are before I fork over any details!

It seems there's a spate of con artists specifically setting their sights on folks banking with Barclays.

Received a dodgy call claiming to be from Barclays, and it certainly raised my suspicions!

Someone rang me claiming to be from Barclays, but I quickly realised it was a scam. They were asking for personal info, which set alarm bells ringing. Definitely do not trust calls like that!
