Foolishly, I clicked on a link since everything seemed above board-nothing about it raised any red flags. I was none the wiser it was a scam until they sent me a verification code, which was oddly from Halifax, not Lloyds. When I queried it, the representative got all flustered and put me on hold. Then, the audacity of it! They actually asked me for my account number and sort code to 'verify' my identity.
