I got a text from this number claiming to be Lloyds bank, saying there was some unusual activity on my account and to follow their instructions. I rang the number on the back of my debit card just to be sure, and turns out it really was a legit message from Lloyds.

This number sent me a text asking if I’d authorised an online purchase and to respond with yes or no. Just moments earlier, Halifax had informed me that a payment attempt was stopped. They said if I get any message asking to reply yes or no, it’s a con and should be ignored. They advised ringing 159 or the number on your card to reach your bank. Be careful not to Google the fraud team’s contact - fake sites might pop up and you’d end up speaking to scammers!

I got a text saying Lloyds Bank spotted my debit card ending in 3825 used on 07-12-2023 at 08:34:02 at some EUREST SAINSBURYS THAMES for 30p. They said they blocked the payment and cancelled it. It asked me to reply YES or NO to confirm if it was me, or that future payments might be blocked. It also mentioned I’d see a notification in the mobile app. The thing is, the charge was real but got declined twice by two different coffee machines inside the Sainsbury’s warehouse. I’m left wondering, how did these scammers manage to get hold of my number?

It’s definitely not a scam, I just left another comment but I’ve now got nearly the exact message in my Lloyds Bank app asking about that same transaction.

Got a call from this number but couldn't hear anything when I answered. Shortly after, I got a message saying I'd receive another text from Lloyds Bank about a transaction. That follow-up text was sent from 07401300104. I shut down my Lloyds account ages ago, like five years back, and haven’t used them since, so I’m absolutely certain this is a dodgy scam!

Scam alert!

Got a text saying my Lloyds card ending in **** was used at some place for £--.--. It said they’d blocked the card or something, but the message didn’t even look legit - no proper Lloyds headers, just a mobile number. Made me extra wary since my dad recently got tricked into handing over his card info. Definitely a dodgy one!
