Got a message from someone claiming to be my son saying his phone had stopped working and this was his new number. We exchanged texts all evening and I really believed it was him. Later, he asked if I could send £1320 for a bill because he couldn’t access his banking app. That’s when I got suspicious and rang my son’s girlfriend to check. Turned out it wasn’t him texting me at all, and he hadn’t switched phones. Nearly got scammed out of a lot of cash.
