Seems like this was a legit NatWest number. I received a message about a “suspicious” charge on my account, and I thought it was for my credit card, so I checked my banking app but didn’t spot anything out of place. I rang the NatWest helpline printed on my card just to be sure, and turns out there was a dodgy attempt on my debit card. They’d already frozen it and asked me to consider if the charge might actually be valid. I said I’d mull it over and get back to them. When I did call back, they cancelled the card and sent me a replacement.

I've been getting quite a few texts and calls from Nat West lately, plus this other company they mentioned called EMS or something linked to Nat West. Not sure what all the fuss is about.

At around 5 in the morning, I got a text from 07401198410 claiming to be NatWest. The message said my debit card was blocked and they needed me to confirm some recent payments. They then sent me a follow-up with a list of transactions. Most looked legit, but one seemed odd. What puzzles me is how they knew those transaction details in the first place. I didn’t reply. Banks don’t usually reach out by text or phone to verify payments like that.

Got caught up in quite the clever scam, with someone impersonating NatWest. First, they sent a bogus survey asking about some transactions that were clearly dodgy. Then I got a call from an unfamiliar number where the caller said they were from NatWest's fraud department.

Double-checked with NatWest and they said they never made that call.

My advice: always ring the number listed on your bank card to be safe!

At first, I figured it was a scam, but turns out it’s a genuine call from NatWest. Just double-check by ringing them back using a number you find on Google that’s verified.

I got a message from this number and thought it was dodgy at first. To be sure I phoned my bank using the number on the back of my card, and they said it was genuine. So, definitely get in touch with your bank before you dismiss anything, but personally, I wouldn’t bother calling back or answering the text!

I got a text about three transactions, but I only did two of them. The weird bit is, it came from some number I didn’t know at all. Kinda freaky that whoever sent it seemed to already know about the last two payments I made.

This number called me and a woman said she was with NatWest’s fraud department. Thing is, I don’t even have an account with NatWest! She told me there was some dodgy transaction on my account, about 500 quid paid to Apple. Then she asked for my bank info to “verify” who I was. Seemed off straight away.
