I recently received a rather dodgy call from someone claiming to be with the National Crime Agency, insisting that my national insurance number had been misappropriated by foreign nationals and that they were about to cut it off. It was painfully evident that it was a scam of the highest order! They wanted me to press '1' for further details, which I suspect would have led me straight to some extortionate premium line in India, racking up costs at a staggering £3 per minute while I waited in limbo. Definitely worth reporting to the authorities - don't get caught in their trap!
