So it turns out it was supposedly the tax office trying to scare me into handing over my bank info, saying the cops were already on their way to arrest me.

Got a call from an unknown number but as soon as I picked up the line just went dead. Tried calling back with 1471 and got a recorded message saying "Number not recognised, please check the number and try again". Feels like they’re just collecting numbers for annoying or scam calls.

Got two missed calls from this number and another one that looked almost the same. After reading the comments, I’m gonna block it. These scammers really need to be stopped, I got a call like this yesterday too. I even told HMRC about it and they said they only call when the number is hidden.

Got a recorded voice saying if I've got massive debts to press 5. I did that and they said someone would ring me back in 24 hours.
