Got a text from this number claiming to be from HMRC about some tax refund I supposedly hadn’t claimed. Felt dodgy right away. It even mentioned a specific amount - 482.88 GBP - which seemed odd. There was a link included (ending in .xyz, weirdly), and I just couldn’t see why HMRC would send something like that or why they'd use GBP like that. Plus, they don’t even have my phone number to contact me that way. Definitely looked like a scam to me.
