I reckon this is some sort of scam. They sent that message to a number I've never used for my car, nor have I registered it with the DVLA.

Got a text supposedly from the DVLA saying they've recalculated my car tax and that I've overpaid by £48.84, even though I paid it before the month ended. I double-checked everything, the V11 and my bank statement match up perfectly. Honestly, tempted to follow the link in the message just to see what happens, but I’m gonna hold back. Pretty sure this is just a total scam.
