Got a text this evening from a number claiming to be the ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND saying I should call if I hadn’t made a standing order for £329 today. Rang the number back, and it was supposed to be my bank - but it wasn’t. The bloke on the phone sounded really legit and we chatted for a bit, but honestly, it was a total scam. Watch out for this!

On BBC1’s show ‘Scam Interceptors’ (available on iPlayer), you can see how these scams actually happen. Ethical hackers jump into the scammers’ systems while the con is still going on and try to shut it down. These scammers use really clever tricks and technology, making it way too easy for them to drain your bank account. Definitely worth a watch if you have a phone and bank account.
