I just got a message from a number pretending to be my daughter saying, "Mum, I've cracked my phone, can you text me on my new number 07398 640 512 please?" At the exact time, I was actually chatting with my real daughter on her genuine phone number, so it was clear a scam. I sent back our secret safe word - something we agreed on to spot scams - and of course, no answer. Blocked and reported straight away. Honestly, everyone should sort a safe word with their family (and don’t keep it on your phone!). Glad to help.
