These debt scammers are just trying to drain your bank account if you let them. Don’t be soft - make sure you report them straight away to the Serious Fraud Office and Ofcom to help keep our elderly and vulnerable safe.

This is a debt collection firm, they ring from a mobile that's controlled by computer, if you press any key saying you owe money they will call you back from 03336553211. It’s a clever trick to avoid being reported for spam calls. If you manage to discover who they really are, make sure you report them to the Telephone Preference Service, they can be fined up to £500,000.

Real debt collectors and process servers dont usually threaten like that. They just turn up instead. Truth is, if someone has gone through the effort to sue you over a debt, theyll serve you the paperwork before even discussing payments. Thats just how these sort of legal actions roll. Its super unlikely a proper debt collector would both threaten immediate consequences and at the same time say paying now will stop it. So chances are, this is probably a fake debt collection scam.

Seems like these cold callers are getting smarter with their scams! Before it was mostly landlines but now they're targetin mobiles. Got a call from this number, but as soon as they heard me they just hung up. Really hope they don’t end up using my voice to fool any voice ID systems and get into my bank stuff. For the last few days, ive been getting nonstop calls from different mobile numbers. My phone keeps warning me these are likely scams and tells me not to pick up. I’m guessing some telemarketer is just using different fake numbers. If it was important, they’d leave a message anyway.

The debt collector starts off the call with a really urgent tone. They’ll say something along the lines of, if you don’t sort a payment out right now then you’ll be taken to court today; or they might even say someone will turn up at your job to hand you a legal notice. It’s all meant to scare you into paying immediately.
