I put my car up for sale on Autotrader and got a call from someone claiming to be with a firm based in Manchester. They said they want to buy my car, even though I’m located in Essex. Their plan was to send a driver over to collect it and pay me by bank transfer before taking the car. At first, that seemed alright, but after looking into it more - especially with all the stories about Bounce Back Loan scams - I’ve decided not to go ahead with selling the car like this. Better safe than sorry.

When I picked up, all I got was silence and then they just cut the call after a few seconds. Seems like a typical annoying telemarketer to me - someone best dodged or even banned from making calls ever again, honestly.

Got a call from a firm saying they owned a company or something like that. We never actually spoke. Was a bit worried when they asked for me by name on my personal mobile.
