Today I got a text saying I hadn’t paid a fine and if I didn’t pay by today, my car would be banned and I’d be taken to court. So I checked the DVSA site, and turns out it’s a scam. The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency had put out a warning earlier that afternoon about dodgy texts with terrible spelling telling drivers they owe parking charges or will lose their licence. They said these fake messages are being sent out by scammers trying to trick people. DVSA made it clear they don’t handle parking fines or send any such messages, so don’t fall for it!
