2 yearsGot a call from some chavvy woman with a Liverpudlian accent saying she was from National Gateway and had a PPI refund for me supposedly through HMRC. From the start she was pretty rude, and when I told her the name she gave was just a nickname not my actual first name, she still somehow knew my address. I asked her to hold on while I googled her to check if she was legit, and then all of a sudden she denied being with HMRC and started cursing at me. Proper dodgy.LiverpoolHMRCNational Gateway3 yearsThis number rang me up thrice and each time, the bloke on the line was proper rude and kept arguing. He kept insisting on calling me by my maiden name from yonks ago, which he somehow knew, along with an old email and address of mine, which was a bit dodgy. The calls were supposedly about PPI. Honestly, after being called three times and his obnoxious laughing, I just found the whole thing horrible.3 yearsTotally a scam, don't trust it!3 yearsGot a call claiming to be from HMRC, but I just blocked it straight away. Definitely a scam.3 yearsThese tax scammers called me, only had my name but no other info. It’s kinda hilarious that HMRC somehow doesn’t have my address, even though I’ve been paying taxes for over 40 years! Honestly, I’m fine with them keeping it - seems like they need it more than me 😂. On a serious note though, just ignore and block these calls, they’re definitely a scam.HMRC3 yearsNot sure what the bloke was called but like other people have said, he mentioned I had a cheque for £1100 waiting after 25% tax was taken from an old PPI claim. He spoke with a Scouse accent which made it sound believable. They asked me to sign something through Pandalink, which turned out to be giving them permission to collect any taxes owed. I've blocked the number now and reported it to HMRC.PandalinkHMRC3 yearsGot a call about some Gateway Tax Refund thing, and somehow they already had my mailing address and info. They emailed me afterwards but I never opened it. If they really want to send me money, they’ll have to track me down themselves. I’ve blocked their number so they can’t ring me again.Gateway3 yearsLooks like another one of those tax fraud calls to watch out for.3 yearsI got a ring from some people claiming to be HMRC, saying I was owed a tax rebate. What was a dead giveaway though, was they used my work number to call me. I’ve had tax refunds before, but never like this. If you reckon you might be owed anything, just get in touch with HMRC yourself. Don’t trust any random folks calling you about it.HMRC3 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be from National Gateway, saying they were handling stuff with HMRC about a tax refund on wages, loans or PPI. They asked if I still lived at the address they had. I told them if I was owed any money, I'd just contact HMRC directly myself. They then said HMRC would just send me back to them, which I know isn’t true. Honestly, it’s safer to just hang up, block the number and report it.National GatewayHMRC3 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were with the National Gateway and mentioned a tax refund. I told them I don’t actually pay taxes and then they just hung up on me.3 yearsGot a call about some PPI tax refund, sounded dodgy as hell - classic scam trying to get your details. Watch out for these, they’re everywhere!3 yearsI got a call from someone named James Smith claiming to be with National Gateway, saying I was due an £800 tax refund from HMRC by post. He asked for my personal info, including my address. When I asked how I could verify the call was genuine and not some scam, he just hung up straight away.James SmithNational GatewayHMRC3 yearsSomebody rang up saying they were from HMRC offering to process a tax refund for PPI.
