Someone rang me claiming to be my son saying he’d broken his phone. After a bit, I got a message asking for help with a debt collection fee of £971. I tried ringing back but couldn’t get through, no answer at all. The message mentioned something like GitGas or some similar name. I ended up contacting my son’s wife and she said it definitely wasn’t him, and later my son confirmed the same. Felt really upset and uneasy someone was pretending to be my son and calling me mum like that.
