They said his phone was busted and he was borrowing a mate’s old one. Then asked me to urgently send £828 for a bill he said needed paying and promised to pay me back in a couple of days. I tried ringing the number back but there was no answer. A bit later I got a message asking if I'd called. Just to be safe, I phoned my real son on his usual phone and he answered straight away, said it was a scam. They even sent details of a fake account for the supposed bill. Honestly, watch out for this one, it’s definitely a con.3 yearsIt’s crazy how these con artists just don’t care. When I called them out for targeting old and vulnerable folks, they got super smug. One bloke told me while us “working class folks” are eating plain meals, they’ll be chilling in Miami, drinking cocktails and tucking into fancy lobster in no time.
