Lately, I've had quite a few random calls coming through. This one was just another in the bunch. It might be genuine, but since I don't recognise the number, it's difficult to be sure.

Got a call from someone saying they're from O2 or Virgin, saying my SIM card was outdated and that they'd send a replacement by courier if I confirmed some info. This felt dodgy right away because if O2 were involved, they wouldn’t need to ask me to confirm stuff first - they’d just send a new SIM straight away. After that call, I rang O2’s customer support to double-check and they said it’s definitely a scam. Don’t hand over any details to these people!

Got a call from a landline that my phone marked as likely spam, so I just ignored it. Right after, the same number rang again, and I declined once more. Then, out of nowhere, a mobile number called me, which I also turned down, only for them to ring back straight away. I didn’t pick up any of the calls. If this was a real caller, their call setup is seriously messed up. Plus, I find it hard to believe any genuine call centre would switch between landline and mobile numbers when calling out.
