I put some car bits up for sale on GUMTREE and got hit by a proper smooth talker trying to con me. Felt like they really knew what they were doing to trick me.

Replied to a wanted ad I posted on GumTree, and then tried to con me into sending money for a car part I was after. There were so many warning signs in the way they messaged and no proof the part was legit. Totally dodgy.

I keep getting calls replying to ads where they’re just fishing for my email or phone info. Seems like a sketchy move to try and collect personal details like that. Definitely makes me wary about putting my actual contact info in those ads.
