looks like one of those automated scams just checking if your phone is live, so i just blocked the number straight away

I picked up the phone and this bloke with an Asian accent told me my Amazon account had been compromised and some geezer had ordered an iPhone using it. He told me to open the Amazon app to cancel the order. I logged onto the website on my laptop and couldn’t see any order at all. Then he sent a ‘verification code’ on WhatsApp and wanted me to give it to him. I got suspicious and refused, asking him just to cancel the order anyway. He said he couldn’t without the code from the app. So I asked him what my last Amazon order was, and he just hung up on me!

Picked up the phone and there was no one on the other end, so I just hung up.

I picked up the phone but there was silence on the other side for about 20 seconds, so I just hung up.

There was a quite long silence before a man with an African accent said he was ringing from Sky to get some feedback. He asked if I was satisfied with my Sky service and if I wanted a discount deal. When I questioned where exactly he was calling from, he just kept saying Sky. Felt iffy about it, so I ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from this number but when I checked the voicemail, it was just silence. After seeing what others have said, it seems like a total scam.

I picked up the phone and as soon as I did, there was this prerecorded voice that just said "goodbye" then the line went dead after like 4 seconds. Weird!
