The usual "call back" harassing scam ploy: 1) they call; 2) I answer within seconds; 3) they hang up immediately; 4a) bait placed, I would be stung with very high call back charges if I return the call, OR; 4b) I lose certain legal protections if I get through to someone and they scam me with their scam "service". Harassment, at this stage, but the purpose is to be dangerous. I'm registered with TPS, but it's made no difference with scam callers.

Got a call from what sounded like a robot claiming to be from HR about a job opportunity. As soon as I said I wasn't interested, they just ended the call straight away. Not sure if it was even a real person on the other end.

This is the typical trick they play: phone rings; I pick up right away; then the caller just cuts off straight away. The aim? Either to trap me into ringing back and face massive fees, or to get me through so they can pull off some dodgy business and I lose legal safeguards. It’s annoying harassment but with a risky edge. I’m on the TPS list too, but it’s done nothing to stop these scam calls.
